On May 8, Voltalia announced that it had won a 130MW solar project in Tunisia in the Gafsa region. This facility will produce enough electricity to meet the needs of more than 700,000 residents.
This flagship project will benefit from a 30-year electricity sales contract, signed with STEG, the Tunisian public network operator. This ensures not only the financial viability of the project, but also its sustainable contribution to the provision of clean and affordable energy in the region.
Construction will begin in 2025 and commissioning is planned for 2026. Tunur is a proud partner of Voltalia in the project having been a key member of the bidding consortium, and will continue to support the project over its lifetime.
